By accessing or using Epstein Studio ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Epstein Studio is a collaborative platform for annotating, discussing, and analyzing publicly available court documents. The Platform allows users to:

  • View indexed PDF documents
  • Create annotations on documents
  • Participate in discussions
  • Vote on content relevance

3. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Platform. The documents available contain sensitive legal content that may not be appropriate for minors. By using the Platform, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.

4. User Accounts

You may create an anonymous account using a username of your choice. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account

5. User Content

By submitting annotations, comments, or other content ("User Content"), you:

  • Grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute your content on the Platform
  • Represent that your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights
  • Acknowledge that your content will be publicly visible

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or hateful
  • Spread misinformation or make unfounded accusations against individuals
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Use automated tools to scrape or overwhelm the Platform
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
  • Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

7. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove any content that violates these terms
  • Suspend or terminate accounts for repeated violations
  • Report illegal content to appropriate authorities

8. Document Disclaimer

The PDF documents available on this Platform are publicly released court records. We do not create, modify, or verify the content of these documents. The documents are provided "as is" for research and educational purposes.

Important: The presence of a name in these documents does not imply guilt or wrongdoing. Many individuals mentioned are witnesses, legal professionals, or are mentioned incidentally. Users should exercise caution and avoid making unfounded accusations.

9. Intellectual Property

The Platform's code is open source under the MIT License. User-generated annotations and comments remain the property of their creators but are licensed to the Platform as described in Section 5.

10. Limitation of Liability

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:

  • Any damages arising from your use of the Platform
  • Content posted by other users
  • The accuracy or completeness of document content
  • Any actions taken based on information found on the Platform

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Platform operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, binding arbitration.
